Jessica Jane Witham, Program Director

With a strong drive to use theatre as a tool for social motivation, Jessica jumped at the chance to work with Encore as Program Director. Jessica comes to Encore with an extensive background in the Theatre Arts. Born in Madison, WI, Jessica, began dancing at age 8, acting at age 15, and, soon after, began her vocal/singing training. She has appeared onstage in 4.48 Psychosis, True Confessions of a Go-Go Girl (Edna), Cementville (Dani), Reefer Madness (Sally) and directed 1SW33TR1DE and Tearoom Tango (both Madison productions and the NYCFringe production) with Mercury Players Theatre. She also appeared in Marat/Sade (Simonne), Proof (Catherine), Of Mice and Men (Curley’s Wife), Hot l Baltimore (April Green) and Meg (Meg) with the Madison Theatre Guild.  She played with Stage Q briefly in their production of Riot Acts (Judy Garland), worked with The Bricks Theatre in True West (Lee) and was Ms. Bartie for the 2010 Bartell Theatre Awards.

In her down time, she is the creative director/choreographer for Foxy Veronica’s Peach Pies, performs under the stage name Foxy Veronica and serves as Vice President of the Board of Directors for Mercury Players Theatre.  She received formal education at Madison Area Technical College, where she received an associate’s degree, the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York City; her focus was musical theatre performance, and at the University of Wisconsin at Madison, where she received her Bachelor’s in Cultural Anthropology.
